Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen has launched the major research project 'Art among the ruins'. What was life like for Rotterdam artists in the aftermath of the bombing on May 14, 1940? How did they survive? And what impossible choices did they face? As unlikely as it may sound, the art world flourished during the occupation.
